Ethiopia

Recently, the Ethiopian office, among other projects, assisted the Addis Ababa national environmental authority’s publication of a so-called «Polluter Atlas» that lists the greatest polluters in the region. A further project partner, Melca Mahiber, helps a group of 14 NGOs lobby to save the Sheka Forest in the southwest of the country. In Kenya, the Foundation’s partner FREPREN put together an expert study on the energy sector in East Africa. The study documents local and communal initiatives for sustainable energy production (for example energy from molasses, a by-product of sugar production).
