Midwestern Green Jobs Tour 2010

From July 12-16, 2010 the Midwestern Green Jobs Tour headed to Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio. During the tour the Heinrich-Boell-Foundation and the Blue Green Alliance released a new policy paper: Three Hundred Thousand Green Jobs - Low Carbon Growth in Germany and the U.S. The paper analyzes the success of the German renewables industry and discusses which of the lessons learned could be applied to the U.S.

The tour addressed legislators, union-, environment-, faith-, business- and other local leaders and featured discussions with Ms. Christine Wörlen, the paper's author and former Head of the Renewable Energy Division of the German Energy Agency dena, as well as Aaron Peterson, Vice President for Business and Project Development at juwi Prairie Wind Power LLC.

Discussions and findings from the tour will be incorporated in a final report of policy recommendations that will be released in Washington, DC prior to the Congressional elections.
