Yassin al-Haj Saleh ist ein syrischer Schriftsteller und Dissident aus Damaskus. Er war politischer Gefangener zwischen 1980 und 1996. Er schreibt für zahlreiche arabische Magazine und Zeitungen, unter anderem für Al-Hayat. Zu seinen Publikationen zählen: Syria in the Shadow: Looks inside the Black Box (2009), The Myth of the Others: A Critique of Contemporary Islam and a Critique of the Critique (2012), und Deliverance or Destruction: Syria at a Crossroads (2014). 2012 wurde ihm der Prince Claus Award verliehen.
