Lepa Mlađenović is the winner of the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s Anne Klein Women’s Award. The award ceremony will take place in Berlin on 1 March 2013. The prize money is 10.000 €.

The anthology „Writing Revolution: The Voices from Tunis to Damascus“, supported by the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s office in Beirut, is one of the six books to receive the „English PEN Award for Outstanding Writing in Translation“ in the year 2013. 

This year’s award winner is Yfaat Weiss, historian at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Weiss, so claimed the jury, points out the unusual course of Israeli history as well as the potential of civil society in her country. The prize will be presented on December 7th 2012 in the City Hall of Bremen 

The Israeli organization "NGO Monitor" criticizes, as reported by the daily newspaper "Jerusalem Post" from January 26, 2012, the Heinrich Böll Foundation's grant to the Israeli website 972mag.com. Ralf Fücks, Co-President of the Heinrich Böll Foundation, responds.

Human rights of Lesbians, gays, bisexual, transgender and intersexual persons (LGBTI) need to be promoted in developing countries and transformation countries just like everywhere else. However, only nine of 16,500 German foundations and organizations support those efforts. Compared with other groups whose human rights are threatened or restricted, they receive far too little political or financial support.

In June 2008, after ten years at our offices in Hackesche Höfe, the Heinrich Böll Foundation is about to move to its newly built headquarters at Schumannstraße 8 in Berlin-Mitte opposite the Deutsches Theater.
