The author, Martin Gerner, is a journalist, filmmaker and lecturer on Afghanistan and has gathered first documents and experiences from participants in Kassel and Kabul. He has also curated the "Unfinished Business" photo exhibition presenting Afghan photo-journalists, that travelled Germany in 2007/08.
