Hamish Nixon coordinates research on the parameters of a durable peace settlement in Afghanistan for the Peace Research Institute of Oslo, the United States Institute for Peace and the Chr. Michelsen Institute. He is the author/co-author of two recent policy reports on this subject: Beyond Power-sharing: Institutional Options for an Afghan Peace Process (Peaceworks, United States Institute of Peace, November 2011); and Achieving Durable Peace: Afghan Perspectives on a Peace Process (PRIO Paper, Peace Research Institute Oslo, May 2011).
