
Jornada de Derechos Humanos A.C. is the most important organisation in southern Mexico that focuses on human rights education and training for young people. It was founded in 2013 in Merida, Yucatan. It has a training scholarship programme that promotes the creation of community projects through the culture of peace in young leaders living in indigenous or conflict areas. It offers on-demand training services designed to generate knowledge in human rights and peace for personnel belonging to public and private institutions. It has impacted more than 25,000 people, mainly young people from diverse communities in Mexico. It maintains partnerships with dozens of universities in Latin America and with international organisations such as Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, and the "Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative" programme of the US Department of State, among others.
