Samuel Denney is a 2021-2022 German Chancellor Fellow at the Alexander von

Humboldt Foundation in Berlin, Germany. From 2018 to 2021, he was a senior research

assistant at the Center on the United States and Europe in the Foreign Policy program at

Brookings. Prior to Brookings, Denney worked as an intern for the Europe Practice at

the Albright Stonebridge Group in Washington, DC and for the European Union Affairs

unit at the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf, Germany. He was

the 2019 Europe Fellow for the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy. Denney received

an MA in German and European Studies from Georgetown University’s School of

Foreign Service in 2018 and a BA in German and European Studies from Vanderbilt

University in 2014.
