Tejal Kanitkar is an Associate Professor in the Energy, Environment, and Climate Change Program, at the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS). She is a mechanical engineer by training, with a Ph.D. in energy science and engineering, and specializes in energy, environment, and climate policy studies. Her research focuses on sustainable development, energy access and security, and equitable climate solutions, particularly in the context of developing economies. She is actively involved in national and international efforts to ensure just and equitable climate action and has participated in negotiations both at the UNFCCC and IPCC.
