Nail Nizamoglu is the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s Foreign Policy & Democracy Intern. Prior to joining the team in Washington, DC, he interned in the Financial and Technical Cooperation Unit at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), focusing on co-financing projects with partners and development cooperation in post-conflict contexts. Additionally, he was a Working Student at the KfW Development Bank, where he assisted in managing contracts with the German government. Simultaneously, he completed a research internship at the Institute for Diplomacy and Economy in Brussels, creating a database on Turkish diplomatic missions worldwide.

Currently, Nail is pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and North American Studies at the Free University of Berlin, concentrating on the intersection of development policy and conflict transformation through empathy. His regional focus lies on the Middle East and Europe, specifically the Eastern Mediterranean.
