Claudia B. Pinzón Cuellar, born and raised in Guatemala, is a doctoral candidate in Sociology at Freie Universität Berlin. Her research focuses on (rural) youth in the Chico Mendes Extractive Reserve in Acre (Brazil) and how their visions for the future are intertwined with forms of territorial belonging that integrate intergenerational and interspecies relationships. She studied Political Science and History in Heidelberg and Latin American Studies in Berlin. Since 2019, she has been working on land-use transformation and socio-ecological dynamics in the Amazonian border region between Peru, Brazil, and Bolivia.
