Alice Stollmeyer is the Founder & Executive Director of Defend Democracy, a nonpartisan NGO defending democracy from foreign, domestic and technological threats. Alice has a background in social studies of science, technology and society. A former policy adviser and digital strategist, she now works at the nexus of democracy, security and technology, in particular on sharp power (also known as hybrid threats). Besides leading Defend Democracy, she is on the Steering Group of the 'Digitalisation' strand of the Netherlands Democracy Coalition and she is an associated expert of the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Centre. 

In 2023, the US government selected her for an International Visitor Leadership Program; in 2025 she was selected for a Vital Voices Global Fellowship for public leadership. Alice has lived and worked in Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels, and increasingly travels across Europe and beyond for her work. She is in Politico's #Power40 top influencers who are most effectively setting the agenda in politics, public policy and advocacy in Brussels. She is a frequent speaker in panels, podcasts, the media and closed-door meetings.
