AZMina

Instituto AzMina is a local non-profit, non-governmental organisation that uses communication, technology and journalism to fight gender injustice. Since 2015, it has been producing a wide range of investigative journalism publications on gender issues of particular concern to women in Brazil. The publications, which are independent of any national influence, appear in the digital sphere. Instituto AzMina has also put out special reports on legislation against domestic violence, abortion, motherhood, women in politics, and many other topics, and in 2016 it published a book about feminism. The organisation released an app called PenhaS in 2019 to fight domestic violence against women. In 2020, it launched the Elas no Congreso platform to monitor women’s rights in the legislative branch and set up the MonitorA observatory to document gender-based political violence in social networks.
