Catherine Mithia is a researcher with over seven years of experience in development economics research, specialising in development financing. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in public policy and administration. Catherine is a published author, contributing insightful pieces on governance and the impact of illicit financial flows, most recently on debt restructuring and debt sustainability analysis. 

She also offers a nuanced African perspective on credit rating agencies. Her focus is on providing research-backed policy alternatives that promote innovative and sustainable solutions to development challenges in Africa. Currently, she works as the Policy and Advocacy Officer for Sovereign Debt Management at the African Forum and Network on Debt and Development.
