Ciro de Souza Brito is a lawyer from the University Federal of Pará, Brazil. He holds a Master´s degree in Family Farming and Sustainable Development from the same University. He is an active member of the Brazilian Network of Decolonial Knowledge (RBSD), as well as the research groups Knowledge and Law at UFPA and the Center for Research on Law and Diversity at the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA). His professional experience includes participation in research and development projects funded by the Ford Foundation, the Ministry of the Environment, and the Climate and Land Use Alliance (CLUA). He has also served as a legal advisor to the non-governmental organization Terra de Direitos and to the Institute of Colonization and Land of Maranhão (ITERMA).
