Edna María Ramos de Castro

Edna María Ramos de Castro is a Full Professor at the Center for Advanced Amazonian Studies of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), and a Visiting Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Institute of Environmental Sciences (ISE), Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), in Canada. She holds a degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Pará, and earned both her master’s and doctorate in Sociology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris.
Her research primarily focuses on the following topics: development, public policy, urban studies, labor, traditional populations, and the environment.
