Ela Joos de ter Beerst joined Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung’s Global Unit for Democracy and Human Rights office as administrative support in February 2026. In this role, she supports the Heads of Programmes with their projects, events and publications and assists the work of the Administration and Finance coordinator.

Prior to joining Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, she gained experiences at Free Press Unlimited and in various roles within the public and non-profit sectors.

She holds a Master’s degree in International Development from the University of Amsterdam and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University College of Maastricht. She is fluent in French, English and Turkish and speaks intermediate Dutch.
