Erika Kvapilová has been involved in research in the field of social policy and social security for more than 15 years. From 2005 to 2022, she worked for the United Nations, where she held various positions at UN Women (formerly UNIFEM), including Regional Program Director for Southeast Europe and Head of UN Women's offices in Georgia and Ukraine. She currently works as a gender expert and senior consultant for Gender Associations International Consulting (GAIC), based in Berlin. Erika holds a PhD in philosophy from Comenius University in Bratislava. In 2021, she was awarded the Gold Plaque of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic for her contribution to international cooperation. She lives in Bratislava, Slovakia.
