Ester Pinheiro is an award-winning multimedia journalist born in Brazil. She holds a Master’s degree in Gender Studies and is the founder and host of Feminismos del Sur, a podcast that amplifies decolonial voices from the Global South through a feminist lens.
Fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French, she brings an intersectional and cross-cultural approach to storytelling. Her work spans journalism and multimedia production with UN agencies, NGOs, and outlets such as The Fuller Project, AzMina, Decolonial Thoughts, El País, Volcánicas, and Climate Tracker.
Her reporting has been recognized through numerous fellowships and initiatives, including the Pulitzer Center, Google News Initiative, the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, The Global Feminist Pitch by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung, the Health Journalism Network, and Internews’ Earth Journalism Network.
