
Julia is a journalist and photojournalist. She has worked in several media outlets, including Brasil de Fato, Agência Pública, De Olho Nos Ruralistas and InfoAmazonia, and collaborated with others, such as Repórter Brasil, Amazônia Real and The Intercept Brazil.
She works mainly on socio-environmental conflicts, agroecology and resistance of traditional peoples in the Amazon and Cerrado region.
She holds a master’s degree in the Social Sciences in Development, Agriculture and Society of UFRRJ.
Julia has worked as editor for Environmental Justice at Heinrich-Böll-Foundation Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and edited, for example, the Brazilian Amazon Atlas.
