Kann Vicheika is a freelance journalist based in Phnom Penh. She covers stories related to politics, women, human rights, social justices, and social issues. She was a citizen journalists’ mentor at the Voice for Democracy. Currently, Vicheika is a trainer of “Newsroom training”, a smart project that aims to contribute to an improved environment for online freedom of expression in Cambodia. She established a training newsroom and national news outlet to give young people hands-on experience in publication of independent journalism. She is also a trainer of “Media and information literacy” with DW Academia. More than that, Vicheika is also a core member of Politikoffee, a group of young enthusiastic and social media-savvy Cambodians who love political, social and economics discussion and debate.
