Dr Melanie Müller is Deputy Head of the Africa and Middle East Research Group at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin. She has conducted research in various countries of the SADC region publishes regularly on the political and socioeconomic developments in South Africa and Southern Africa, as well as on migration and on resource governance.
