Pelican Mourad is working since January 2013 at the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP) as a research assistant in the project "Elite Change and New Social Mobilization in the Arab World".

From 1999-2013, she was working as a program assistant at the Goethe-Institut Damascus.
