Scott Drimie
Director of the Southern Africa Food Lab
Prof Scott Drimie is the Co-Director of the Southern Africa Food Lab at Stellenbosch University, where he also teaches in the Division of Human Nutrition, Department of Global Health and supervises doctoral and masters candidates and serves on the Scientific Committee for the Agriculture, Nutrition & Health (ANH) Academy.
Scott Drimie brings over two decades of expertise at the intersection of food systems research, multi-stakeholder facilitation, and policy engagement across Africa. With advanced training in political economy (M.Phil, PhD Cantab.), he examines the power dynamics and institutional arrangements that shape food systems, translating rigorous analysis into practical strategies for transformation.
