Sofie Lilli Stoffel is Head of Foreign and Security Policy Division at the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung. She is also a non-resident fellow at the Global Public Policy Institute in Berlin, where she has worked on shaping futures-proof foreign and security policy since 2020. Sofie previously worked for the German Federal Ministry of Defence’s Directorate-General for Security and Defence Policy and as a consultant for Save the Children. She frequently serves as a speaker and panelist at events such as the World Economic Forum in Davos and her analysis has been featured in ARD Europamagazin, Der Tagesspiegel, STERN and Internationale Politik, among others.

Sofie studied international security and public policy at Maastricht University, the Australian National University and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
