In this messy episode, Tiff dives into the world of feminist funding, philanthropy, grantmaking and social justice movements with J. Bob Alotta. A filmmaker turned philanthropic leader, Bob previously served as Executive Director of the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice and later as Senior Vice President of Global Programs at the Mozilla Foundation.

Together, they explore the politics of money, the role of intermediary funders, how philanthropy shapes social movements, and why funding often flows to some communities while bypassing others. From queer activism and feminist movement-building to power, trust and the realities of nonprofit leadership, this conversation unpacks what it means to move resources in pursuit of justice.

The episode also tackles funding echo chambers, donor power, risk-taking in philanthropy, and Bob's call for greater generosity, honesty and solidarity across movements.
