
Nighat Dad is executive director of the Digital Rights Foundation. She is an accomplished lawyer, a human rights activist, and a pioneer in the campaign for open internet access in Pakistan and around the world. She is a 2017 TED Global Fellow, one of TIME magazine’s Next Generation Leaders, and a recipient of the Atlantic Council Freedom Award and the Human Rights Tulip Award. She is fascinated by the enormous opportunities that the digital world offers, but she dislikes how the most marginalized are being even more suppressed and silenced in the virtual realm.
