Triangle Project is a non-profit human rights organization offering professional services to ensure the full realization of constitutional and human rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, plus (LGBTQI+) persons, their partners, and families. The organization is one of the oldest in South Africa, with a community presence and service-delivery history dating back to 1981. Triangle Project was responsible for establishing the first gay and lesbian health project in a Black African township in Cape Town, and is one of the largest LGBTQI+ organizations in South Africa today, offering a wide range of services to diverse and growing communities.

Triangle Project’s three core services center on Health and Support, Community Engagement and Empowerment, and Research, Advocacy, and Policy. Our direct services to LGBTQI+ communities include health services related to general and sexual health, counseling, support groups, a helpline, public education and training services, advocacy, community outreach, and court support to survivors of hate crimes.
