The survey “Strengthening Human Rights!” introduced by the Dreilinden gGmbH and the German Institute for Human Rights today identifies the Heinrich Böll Foundation as the most important German promoter of international LGBTI human rights work.

No-one would ever have imagined that the association supporting the Hannah Arendt Award would ever be confronted with a situation, in which it has to consider revoking an award.

The Hannah-Arendt-Prize for Political Thought, which is awarded by the City of Bremen and the Heinrich Böll Foundation, is endowed with 10,000 Euro in 2014. The Prize is awarded to people who in their thought and deeds courageously accept the challenge of public intervention.

Three years ago, the Heinrich Böll Foundation invited tenders for the conference support services and for seating arrangements. One company was awarded the contract in accordance with public funding law guideline. Some of the firm’s employees have brought legal action before the labor court against the Foundation with the goal of attaining employment.  

In recognition of growing importance of the natural resources in future economy of Afghanistan, the Civil Society Natural Resources Monitoring Network (CSNRMN) called upon the Government for more meaningful and constructive engagement with the civil society and local communities.

Lepa Mlađenović is the winner of the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s Anne Klein Women’s Award. The award ceremony will take place in Berlin on 1 March 2013. The prize money is 10.000 €.
