Breaking the Silence

Navigating sexual consent in Cambodia

This research seeks to break the silence surrounding sexual consent, particularly in a culture where women are pressured to remain virgins until marriage and are frequently blamed when they fall victims of sexual violence. As highlighted in our previous publications, this pressure perpetuates harmful double standards, reinforces restrictive gender norms, and contributes to the continued prevalence of gender-based violence (GBV).
