Adiya Akhmer is a 3rd year political science and international relations student at Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan. She is an alumna of the School of Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament and Young Leadership program, organized by Friedrich Ebert Foundation Kazakhstan. Adiya also writes for the online magazine Manshuq, which focuses on women empowerment. Her research interests include nuclear politics, civil society, social activism, feminism and decolonization in Central Asia.
