Mossarat Qadeem

Mossarat is the co-founder of the PAIMAN Alumni Trust, a pioneer organization in Preventing/countering violent extremism (P/CVE) in Pakistan. Mossarat is an internationally known expert on P/CVE, de-radicalization, Women, Peace and Security, and has spoken multiple times at the UN General Assembly and the Security Council. She is a member of the International Review Panel of Global Community and Resilience Fund (GCERF) and Women Alliance for Security Leadership (WASL), and the Commonwealth Women Mediators Network. She advocates in the realm of the Women, Peace and Security-Agenda at the national and international level. To all her work, Mossarat brings the knowledge and experience she acquired during her 14 years as a Professor for Political Science at the University of Peshawar.

She has published two books, written many articles, and produced many documentaries on women in conflict, P/CVE and more. She was a Minister for Information in the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Province and is the member of National Commission on the Status of Women.

She holds a master’s degree in Political Science and Gender Studies from the Institute of Social Sciences, Netherlands and an MPhil in international politics (focusing on conflict studies) from University of Hull, UK. She has also been a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, USA. She is recipient of many prestigious national and international awards.
