Large-scale technological interventions to “fix” the climate crisis are moving up on the political agenda. Some climate scientists are now proposing geoengineering interventions in the atmosphere to suppress global warming - most prominently SAI (Stratospheric Aerosol Injection): The idea here is to inject inorganic particles – such as sulphur dioxide – into the stratosphere to block incoming sunlight. In other schemes, plastic beads and other materials are proposed to cover ice surfaces to prevent them from melting. These schemes to manipulate our ecosystems come with great risks and uncertainties, as well as with foreseeable adverse impacts on our natural ecosystems and human communities depending on them. Part III of “A technofix for the climate?” presents SAI as a method of Solar Radiation Management and focusses on the risks, negative impacts and potential side-effects of this “solution” for tackling climate change. Familie ist bunt! Der internationale Tag der Familie erinnert uns an die unterschiedlichen Formen, in denen Familie heute gelebt wird: mit und ohne Kinder, Ein-Eltern- oder Patchwork-Familien, gleichgeschlechtliche Partnerschaften oder familiäre Bindungen, die über Generationengrenzen hinweg gelten und auch Menschen ohne verwandtschaftliches Verhältnis einschließen. Auch hier wird füreinander Sorge getragen, werden Betreuungs-, Sorge- und Pflegearbeit übernommen. Rechtlich erwachsen daraus Pflichten. Automatische Rechte gibt es nicht. Das ist unfair, denn wer dauerhaft für Andere da ist und für jemanden sorgt, braucht Sicherheit und verdient die Unterstützung der Gesellschaft. Der Pakt für das Zusammenleben sichert gelebte Solidarität zweier Erwachsener rechtlich besser ab. So, dass es in ihren Alltag passt. Wie genau? Das erklärt unser Video.

Now already over 50 years old, few people actually know about ASEAN. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) holds an important role regionally and beyond when it comes to major political and economic developments.
