We published the first Meat Atlas eight years ago. Since then, a lot has changed in Germany. Meat has become a critical topic in society, the media, and science. Consumers are increasingly turning to vegetarian products or meat from better animal welfare standards. German agricultural policy, on the other hand, continues to maintain its stance of denial. New concepts exist, but unfortunately their implementation is being delayed by the Ministry of Agriculture.
This atlas is therefore intended to support all those who are committed to climate justice in their work and engagement. It highlights the problems arising from industrial meat production and provides new data and facts on topics that we have addressed previously. Although there is still a lack of positive trends, it is clear that many people, especially young people, are no longer willing to accept the machinations of the meat industry and are increasingly interested in and committed to climate, sustainability, animal welfare, and nutrition. That's great. Which is why we want to use this atlas to strengthen their commitment with information.
The atlas provides data and facts about animals as food in 19 chapters and 51 infographics.
