The web dossier Brick by Brick: Building African Urban Futures brings together thirteen contributions from African urban thinkers, planners, and activists who explore what inclusive and sustainable urban futures could look like.

From green city policies in Senegal to feminist and disability perspectives on the “right to the city,” from mobility and housing innovations to uncovering colonial legacies in Lagos and Cape Town — these essays challenge conventional narratives of urban crisis. Instead, they reveal how communities are reimagining their environments, building networks of solidarity, and crafting distinctly African models of city-making.

Afrika's Urbanisation is a game-changer. The shift is not just demographic but is also reshaping economic and social outcomes substantially.
