Climate Protection

Climate and species protection is indispensable – and costs money. Germany must not shirk its responsibilities in these areas by invoking the debt brake. Sources of financing are available – the next federal government should use them.

In its latest assessment report the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) states that one in three people is extremely vulnerable to climate change. This vulnerability is intertwined with social inequality and therefore unequally distributed across the globe.  The assessment results emphasize a central question of our time: how can we protect affected population and adapt to present and future change in the climate?

Crises are moments when the hairline cracks and chips in the structures of our societies start to show. Whether the crisis is of an economic, public health, rule of law or climate nature: for bold responses to the crises of our times, strong and progressive alliances are needed now more than ever. 

The exhibition "Climate Killer Cement", designed by Save Kendeng and Watch Indonesia and produced with the support of the Heinrich Böll Foundation, highlights on the one hand the impact of cement production and construction megaprojects on ecosystems and indigenous communities, but also aims to show positive local alternatives.
