Who we are

The Heinrich Böll Foundation stands for green ideas and projects, is a reform policy workshop for the future and an international network. We work with over a hundred partner projects in more than 60 countries and currently have offices in 34 countries.

Our collective mission "Gender democracy, anti-discrimination and participation"

Our aim is to ensure that both our workforce and our target groups reflect the diversity of society, and that we build a working culture that is sensitive to discrimination.

Bylaws of Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung

The bylaws of Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung e.V. were adopted by the General Assembly on 28 March 1998 and last amended in December 2021.

Steffen Heizmann is Heinrich Böll Foundation‛s new CEO

Since 1 March, Steffen Heizmann is the new CEO of the Berlin-based Heinrich Böll Foundation. Prior to that, Heizmann, a political scientist by training, was director of the Foundation‛s International Division.

General Assembly

General Assembly

The General Assembly is the supreme decision-making body of the Foundation. It is composed of 49 members and meets every six months in Berlin.

Annual Report

As we write this in March of 2022, our review of the year 2021 is overshadowed by Russia’s brutal war of aggression against Ukraine. Because of this, not only foreign policy, but also domestic politics have now entered a new era. We are facing enormous challenges that also have a strong impact on our work here at the Foundation.
